Organizational Ombudsperson
Organizations should provide multiple ways for individuals to report experiences of harassment and discrimination in the workplace. Additionally, the use of an external reporting system can increase a victim’s probability of reporting an incident. Organizations are increasingly engaging the services of organizational ombudspersons who do not report directly to the firm, but are able to listen to an individual’s experiences without prejudice and assist them in the formal complaint process. The Ombuds Association is a great resource to better understand the role of an ombudsperson and the role they play in the wider organizational reporting process. Learn more at their website:
