Clear Promotion Structures

Harvard Business Review notes that the promotion process can have a large impact on company culture. In fact, in their survey of 400,000 US-based workers, HBR found that employees are twice as likely to plan a long-term future with an organization if they believe promotions are managed effectively (How You Promote People Can Make or Break Company Culture).
