Pay Transparency

Statistically, we know that women are less likely to negotiate their salaries than men. In fact, according to the Society for Human Resource Management, in 2018, 68 percent of men and 45 percent of women negotiated their salaries while 70 percent of the managers they surveyed expected candidates to negotiate (Study: Women Negotiate Pay When Given the Chance).

Failure to negotiate salary is one of many contributing factors towards the gender pay gap and is a primary reason why organizations are choosing to increase transparency around pay. This article from Built In provides a strong case for pay transparency from a HR executive at a large social media company and can help you better understand where your firm is on the pay transparency spectrum: https://builtin.com/people-management/pay-transparency.
